Social Dance社交舞入門 (Elementary Ballroom Dance)

Social Dance is also called International Ballroom Dance. It can be divided into two major categories, which included International Standard and International Latin as follows:

 -International Standard Dances include Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot and Quickstep.

 -International Latin Dance include: Cha-cha-cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Dobie and Jive.

These dances are easy and simple and this course is suitable for participants of all ages with no experience.

Step Aerobics (踏板舞班)

This class is designed to emphasize cardiovascular endurance through a variety of exercises that stimulate heart and lung activity. The instructor will teach the master stepping techniques which is coordinated stepping movements performed to music. Target heart rate/fat burning principles will be stressed while increasing the intensity and duration of exercise. It is suitable for all level of participants. Let’s come and have an effective workout.

Hip Hop Dance

Hip-Hop is the dance you often see in music video clips today. Hip-Hop is a broad collection of urban street dance styles. Hip-Hop dancing evolved from Hip-Hop culture and includes elements from Jazz, Rock, Tap, American and Latino dance cultures. It is a very energetic form of dance that can be choreographed or improvised.

HKU Run

There is a lot of interest in running at HKU. To meet this demand we have launched the HKU Uni-Run program, which is a running training course open to all of you to enroll.

The feedback we have received from the HKU community of runners is that you would like to improve your running performance and running knowledge. Whatever your interest or goal, the upcoming series of 10 sessions of running training with our experienced coach/es will help you run smoother, faster and get your better performances.

The HKU Uni-Run training sessions aim to help participants who are preparing for the long-distance race events such as 10k and 21k Half-Marathon. Those participating in full marathon will also require some faster running work to improve their performance, so these sessions are ideal for all distance runners looking to improve their running performance.  

Participants will learn about running drills, posture; running technique; how to build endurance; race pacing strategies and running conditioning exercises, which can be used at the sessions and during runner’s own regular practices.


The HKU Uni-Run training sessions are particularly suitable for all beginner and intermediate level runners.

Bollywood Dance

Bollywood dances are fast paced and high-energy dance sequences found in movies. It mixes western hip hop/jazz aspects with the elements of classical Indian dances. The dances are cheeky, energetic and filled with optimism, which are lively combinations of acting and dancing. Through popular movie dance routines, the workshop will provide an understanding of the fundamentals behind Bollywood dance, focusing on body posture & spatial awareness, isolating body parts to define movements, improving coordination & rhythm, as well as hand gestures & movement angles.

BOXING (拳擊)

Boxing is a combat sport in which two boxers throw punches at each other. Boxing requires strength, speed, reflexes, endurance, and willpower. Our training will focus on punching technique, defense technique, footwork, boxing reflexes, and strategy.
